Old Inn in bloom

THE Old Inn Crawfordsburn has picked up its fifth Ulster in Bloom award for outstanding presentation, awarded at a ceremony in Malone House.

The annual event encourages cities, towns villages and local businesses to take pride in their presentation through thoughtful and dramatic floral and horticultural displays.

The Old Inn has won the special award for ‘outstanding floral presentation’ two years in a row and on this occasion was warded for its use of hanging baskets, floral displays and immaculate landscaping. The hotel itself is in the final stages of a further £1.2m investment, which includes a dramatic new Tudor style hotel entrance, a further enhancement to the village scene of Crawfordsburn.

“We are genuinely thrilled about winning this category again and to win it two years in a row is almost as unique as the hotel itself. In conjunction with the team at Dalzell Landscapes, the presentation of the hotel has been kept in excellent condition despite the on going refurbishment program. This is a huge coup for the hotel and for the Dalzell team, and we very much look forward to entering the completion again next year,” said Paul Rice, director at The Old Inn.
