HAVE you ever wondered what bin an item goes into?

North Down Borough Council has joined forces with Bin-Ovation, a new app that is revolutionising recycling in households and local councils across Northern Ireland.

Now you need wonder no more. Simply search the app for the item and it will tell you which bin it goes into. You can also set reminders that tell you which bin goes out on which date, so you won’t need to look out and see what your neighbours are doing.

The free and easy to use Bin-Ovation app provides:

• A library of over 300 household items with photographs, instructions and information on local recycling centres

• Bin collection day reminders to your phone or tablet, so you never forget to put your bin out

• Notifications of holiday bin collection timetables, changes to services and information on new initiatives straight to your device

• Useful tips on how to reduce, reuse and recycle

• Opening hours and GPS directions to your local recycling centres in the North Down Borough Council area

• Contact details for North Down Borough Council

Emma Adair, recycling officer North Down Borough Council, stated, “This is an exciting new user-friendly tool to help householders with their recycling, it offers a wide range of functions and provides an easy way to stay in touch with new recycling initiatives.”

The Bin-Ovation app is free to download for all Apple and Android platforms from the App Store or Play Store.
