Stuck in a traffic jam? Blame the G8 summit

The G8 summit is to blame for Bangor’s road chaos. That’s according to the government anyway, who this week said that they couldn’t carry out local roadworks over summer because the meeting of world leaders in Fermanagh in June held up their repair plans.

Holywood are champions

Holywood Cricket Club are champions of the Ulster Bank NCU Section Two League. The 1sts won the title last Sunday with an eight wicket win away at Drumaness to finish on 62 points from 18 matches, two points ahead of North Down rivals Bangor.

Local traders and motorists alike have hit out at the ‘crazy’ roadworks carried out in Groomsport village this week. The busy village Main Street was closed for around 12 hours on Monday (16th) and Tuesday (17th) as essential resurfacing work was undertaken.
